Western and Eastern zodiac dates are different. Western zodiac signs use the Gregorian calendar and Eastern ones use the Lunar calendar. Western is based on your day and month of birth and Eastern is based on your year of birth primarily but can change by month/day of birth due to how the the lunar calendar works and the year determines when lunar new year was at the time. Each year rotates through every 12-year cycle, that's why each new year is the "Year of the _____" (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig; in this exact order).
A person's date of birth is a combination of both Western and Eastern zodiac signs. For example, if you were born on May 1st in any of the following years: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024, your Western zodiac sign would be Taurus and your Eastern zodiac sign would be a Dragon. Therefore, you would be a Taurus Dragon!
If you were born today on Friday, June 2, 2023, then you have learned to read really fast and you would also be a Gemini + Rabbit. Happy birthday!
If you were born today of next year on Sunday, June 2, 2024, you would be Gemini + Dragon.
Last year on Thursday, June 2, 2022?
Gemini + Tiger. It is important to remember that just 1 day, month or year can change both of your zodiac signs. According to today, it is the year of the Rabbit and the month of the Gemini, so if this is your year, may this day, month and year bring you great health, wealth, luck and prosperity!

Most calendars use the Gregorian calendar system, which assigns 365 days to each year (with an extra day added in leap years), and organizes those days into months. Each month has a different number of days, with the shortest month having 28 or 29 days, and the longest having 31 days. Western zodiacs use the Gregorian system.
Eastern zodiacs use the lunar calendar which is based on the phases of the moon, with each month corresponding to a complete cycle of the moon from new moon to new moon. The lunar cycle is approximately 29.5 days, so most lunar calendars have 12 lunar months in a year, with a total of 354 days.
To reconcile the difference between the two systems, some lunar calendars include an extra month periodically to bring the calendar in line with the seasons.
The calendar typically starts with the first day of January, which is assigned the number 1, and continues in sequential order until the last day of December, which is assigned the number 31. The number of days in each month and the position of each month in the year may differ depending on the calendar system used. In the Gregorian calendar, the new year day falls on January 1 whereas in the Chinese lunar calendar, the new year day usually falls between January 21 and February 20, depending on the cycle of the moon.
To determine your zodiac sign for any given year, you can look up the date of the Chinese New Year for that year and see if your birth date falls before or after that date because the zodiac sign changes at the Chinese New Year, not on January 1 as in the Gregorian calendar. If you were born between January 21 and February 20, the lunar year that you should use to determine your zodiac sign or animal is the one that corresponds to the Chinese New Year that occurred in the year of your birth. For example, if you were born in 1990, you would have been born in the year of the Horse if your birthdate was before February 15 of that year, and in the year of the Snake if your birth date was on or after February 15. This is because the Chinese New Year in 1990 fell on January 27.
Relevant zodiac dates/zodiac years (birthday, birth dates, and birth years) for Capricorn horoscope:
Note: Your Eastern zodiac sign can change depending upon your exact day and month of birth and the beginning of each Lunar New Year which is different every year and does not necessarily start on January 1st like the Western Zodiac based on the Gregorian Calendar (which ends on December 31st every year). The Lunar calendar is about 29.5 days or so a month (about 354 earth days a year), so this makes New Years generally fall between January 20 and Febuary 20th, more or less which is when Chinese New Years is celebrated. Our system will calculate this for you for both signs as accurately as possible. The following is the start and end of each lunar new year for each respective year for each Eastern Zodiac Sign. It should be noted that "Goat" and "Sheep" are used interchangeably around different parts of the world but mean and refer to the same sign. This is one of those nuances which were likely lost in translation over a thousand years ago.
Disclaimer: There can be slight nuances and variations with certain birth dates, particularly those at the beginning and the end of each respective cycle, which can make you borderline one or more different zodiac signs (east or west) according to different sources, also known as "cusps" which may not be accounted for with our system. In these cases, it is recommended to change your birthday when registering to reflect the ones that resonates the most with you as match-making is strictly based on the zodiac signs in your profile. This applies to all birth dates and users.
